A Cornucopia of Fresh Organic Produce.
Our Inland Empire CSA offers the best organic products from two different growing climates.
It was formed from the union of two Certified Organic farms, Sage Mountain Farm in Aguanga (Hemet), California and De Luz Farms and Nursery in Temecula, California.
Each farm has its own unique growing climate. This arrangement allows our CSA to offer a wider variety of fruits and vegetables than other CSAs.
Listed here are some of the crops that we grow. Our tree crops are limited, as those trees are young and are not fully productive yet. Herbs are grown monthly but are limited in quantity. Greens may consist of arugula, dandelion, mustard, pak choi, tatsoi or mesclun mix and will vary weekly.
Sage Mountain Farm is well known in the inland empire for their wonderful vegetables grown with pure well water.
Their Heirloom Tomatoes, Sage Candy Onions, and other high quality organic fruits and vegetables cannot be matched in quality and taste! They are helping them to become one of the most well-known and popular farms in the Temecula valley.
Because it is so easy for a conventional farm to contaminate an organic farm, they enjoy farming in the wilderness (away from all conventional farms).
They practice and maintain organic, sustainable farming practices. All of their fruits and vegetables are grown on thier family operated farm using sparkling clean natural well water. At their high desert property, they also use pure organic guidelines to raise steers, chickens, pigs and goats.
De Luz Farms and Nursery is located on an old 12 acre avocado grove in Temecula, California.
Their certified organic grove and farm enjoy a Mediterranean climate that rarely gets a hard frost. This allows them to grow a number of tropical fruits and vegetables year round.
Their main tree crops are avocado, star ruby grapefruit, feijoas (pineapple guavas), pomegranates and a variety of other citrus.
They have a computer controlled, 5800 square foot greenhouse in which one half is dedicated to their certified organic transplant production, and the other half is a aquaponic NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) organic herb growing system. Nutrients for the aquaponic system is happily supplied by their Koi fish.

A pledge of support.
We have two pledge plans available for our CSA members:
1) The Large Pledge, which typically provides a weeks supply of produce for a larger family or 3-4 adults. With a Large Pledge, you would receive 10-12 items each week with the content varying by season.
2) For smaller families, we also offer a Small Pledge, which provides a weeks supply of produce for 1-2 adults. With a Small Pledge, you would receive fewer items and/or a smaller amount of an item.
Generally, the produce will be the same in each box, just different quantities.
Payment.
We request that all members pay in advance for their Large or Small Pledge. We ask this because we need to have an idea of how many families to plant for, keep our bookkeeping duties down to a minimum and be planting and harvesting your crops in a timely manner. We also accept credit cards for payment.
